Climbing Course, 1/2 Day

Description
Rock climbing near Sacsayhuaman above Cusco. We will learn techniques of rock climbing, and rappel and ascend walls of different difficulties. Although it is very safe, the vertigo and adrenaline rush may be intense. You do not need any experience for this trip.

Itinerary

Day 1 Cusco - Chacan - Cusco
At 9:00 in the morning we go by private van from Cusco up to the rock wall at Chacan, located behind Sacsayhuaman, some ten minutes from central Cusco. We walk to the wall itself, where the guide explains and demonstrates the equipment and safety techniques. We practice rappelling down the wall, an ascent of 25m.Then we rappel a 40m wall.

100m Rappel Huambutio 1 Day

Description
To hang 100 meters in the air by a rope is a very emotional experience, and when you do it with professional experienced guides and top of the line equipment, you are 100% safe. We also see some important sites near Cusco and some lovely landscapes.

Itinerary

DAY 1 Cusco - Huambutio - Cusco
At 9:00 in the morning we leave for Huambutio, some forty minutes east of Cusco, which is located at the mouth of the Huatanay River; the river that flows through the Cusco valley, into the larger Vilcanota River; river of the Sacred Valley and Machupicchu. Here the guide will explain to us the safety procedures, and then we will practice learning how to use the equipment. Then we begin the rappel. We will have lunch in the afternoon before we return to Cusco.

Canyoning the Pisac Gorge 1 Day

Description
The most exciting experience available near Cusco, the sport of canyoning introduces you to the beautiful countryside within the archaeological complex of Pisac while delivering an unsurpassable adrenaline rush. Pisac is located NE of Cusco in the Sacred Valley. At Pisac a canyon cuts into the Vilcanota valley from the NE. The gorge is 100 meters deep. This is wet, upside-down climbing on some beautifully sculpted river rock.

Itinerary

Day 1 Cusco - Pisac - Cusco
At 9:00 A.M we pick up the passengers from their hotels and go to Corao, 40 minutes NE of Cusco, where we prepare for you canyoning. Everyone tests his or her harness, neoprene wetsuit, ropes, and carabiners, while the guide explains our intended trip down. Then we begin the descents. The rappels are as long as 10, 20, and 30 meters at a time. We reach the bottom after about 5 hours and exit by way of the river itself hence the wetsuits. We lunch and go back to Cusco.
